1. What is drug testing?

Drug testing involves evaluating urine, blood, hair, or saliva to determine if a individuals has used specific drugs. It is commonly done for various reasons including:

  • Pre-employment screening: Many employers conduct drug tests during the hiring process, wespecially for safety-sensitive positions.

  • Workplace safety: Drug testing helps identify on-the-job drug abuse that could compromise safety.

  • Productivity: Addressing drug abuse can improve workplace productivity.

  • Healthcare costs: Substance abuse costs the U.S. economy significantly each year.

3. What types of drug tests are there?

Common drug tests include urine tests, blood tests, hair tests, and oral fluid and breath tests. Each has different detection windows and purposes. 

4.What drugs are detected with a urine test?

 

A: The following drugs: amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, MDMA (ecstasy) and its metabolite, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine (PCP) and propoxyphene, synthetic cannabinoids (“K2/Spice”) and synthetic stimulants (“Bath Salts”).

  • Employment: Positions involving federal transportation, airlines, healthcare, and safety-sensitive roles. Or any business that prefers to keep a drug-free safe work enviornment.

  • Athletics: College, professional, and Olympic athletes

  • Post Accident: After vehicular or on-the-job accidents 

  • Random and Reasonable SuspicionTesting: To deter drug abuse

  • Court Ordered or Personal Testing: Keeps indiviuals compliant with judges orders or in home.

Q:How much does a lab-base drug test cost?

A: The cost of our drug tests will vary based upon the type and the number of drug panels selected.

Q:What is the standard turnaround time for a lab-based test?

A: Negative screening results are often released within 24 hours and non-negative screens are typically released within an additional 24 to 72 hours.

Q: What is the detection window for a lab-based, drug test?

A: Most test detects recent drug use in the previous 24 to 72 hours. Except for hair, it can go back the previous 90 days.
